Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time | Bulletin | Announcements
Greetings St. Augustine Family,
Today we celebrate the
Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Our readings challenge us with a reminder that often, we hear what we
to hear, not what we
to hear. When Jesus told his disciples that he would suffer and be killed,
contradicted him and simply refused to hear it! After rebuking him, Jesus told the crowd that everyone who follows him must be prepared to suffer as well by willingly taking up their cross.
Let us pray for the courage to take up our crosses, comforted with the knowledge that God always accompanies us in our struggles.
12:30 p.m Mass
will be live-streamed via our
or download the attachment to read the bulletin for this week.
Father Pat's Sermon Notes are still on vacation!
HVAC Fundraising Campaign
Our fundraising efforts continue to progress as the number of

The overwhelming majority of funds collected have been in the $150 dollar range which indicates that a good percentage of individual parishioners or households have participated in this effort!
So, THANKS to all of you who have given at any amount and I encourage those who have not yet contributed to definitely DO SO!
As a reminder, here are the THREE main ways that you can financially support this effort
(1) You may use the
red and white
Church Renovation Envelope
when giving at Mass through the Collection on Sunday or Mail it in from home.
(2) You can also give online through

or on an ongoing basis.
(3) If you own stock, you can

Are you curious about the Catholic faith? Have you considered becoming a Roman Catholic, but just did not know how? Do you know someone who would like to explore the Catholic traditions? Consider joining St. Augustine’s Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
RCIA is a Ministry dedicated to faith formation and full initiation of adults with no religious background or those coming from other faith traditions, into the Roman Catholic faith. RCIA also invites baptized Catholics seeking to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist to participate in the transformative spiritual journey towards a rich and fulfilling life in Christ.
Join us on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Virtual and in person classes will begin in September.
For additional information, contact the RCIA Team.
An important part of the RCIA experience is introducing seekers to the parish faith community. If you are a baptized Catholic who has received all your Sacraments of Initiation and are practicing your Catholic faith, consider serving as a Sponsor to those who are interested in the Catholic Church.
RCIA Sponsor Orientation
Saturday, September 25, 2021
1:00 – 4:00 PM
When you are walking on a path or going on a journey, it means so much to have someone who has already walked that road, to walk with you to…
Point out things along the way that you may not have noticed on your own,
Introduce you to the locals and their way of life,
Share your excitement and
Even offer encouragement when you get tired.
These are some of the same things RCIA Sponsors do as companions on this walk of Faith!
As Baptized Christians, we are all called to go and make disciples and as our parish prepares to welcome those people who want to become part of the Catholic Church, please consider joining us at our next workshop.
Father Pat will lead the workshop
. It is an opportunity for you to learn more about the fundamentals of serving as an RCIA Sponsor and discern whether God is calling you to serve in this Ministry. As people appear who are interested in becoming Catholic, we want our parish to have Sponsors ready to walk with them on their journey.
Please see an RCIA team member at the back of the church to sign up for the workshop or contact us by e-mail to register at
The Garden of Eden
We need volunteers!
We will be meeting every Saturday during the summer and fall at 8:30 a.m. in the church parking lot.
A green thumb is not required, but a generous spirit is desired.
We encourage you to continue checking our website at
